Alex Rodriguez is taking the high road in his high-profile breakup from Jennifer Lopez, saying in a new interview that he’s “grateful” for the “incredible life” he had with his ex-fiancée.
“I had five years of an incredible life and partnership and also with my daughters, we learned so much,” he told Entertainment Tonight in an interview published on Tuesday.
The former Yankee slugger added that he and his daughters — Natasha, 16, and Ella, 12 — now have the “opportunity to take that and move forward and say, ‘You know what? We’re so grateful for the last five years, how do we make the next five years better because of lessons learned?'”
He also told the outlet he’s in a great place right now.
“I’m so grateful for where God and the light has really put me, and I’m really looking forward. Mostly to see how my girls keep developing.”
Meanwhile, Lopez — who has been snuggling up to ex-flame Ben Affleck since their split — scrubbed all traces of Rodriguez from her Instagram over the weekend.
In March, Page Six exclusively reported that Rodriguez, 46, and Lopez, 52, called off their engagement.
While “Southern Charm” star Madison LeCroy told us that Rodriguez never “physically cheated” on Lopez with her, a source told us that the scandal was the reason they finally broke up.
“There were already problems, but Jennifer was really embarrassed by it,” a source told us at the time.
The exes released a joint statement in April confirming their breakup.
“We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so,” they said. “We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and each other’s children.”
The “Jenny From the Block” singer shares 13-year-old twins Max and Emme with her ex-husband, Marc Anthony. Meanwhile, the former Yankee shares Natasha and Ella with his ex-wife, Cynthia Scurtis.
The pair first got engaged in 2019, but they were forced to postpone their wedding twice due to the coronavirus pandemic.
J.Lo also revealed that she and A-Rod saw a therapist as they extended their engagement, but they ultimately couldn’t work out their differences.
