Kim Kardashian is celebrating her October birthday a bit early this year.
The beauty mogul, 40, showed off a new opal and diamond grill on her bottom row of teeth on Instagram Wednesday.
“New opal birthstone grill alert,” she captioned the photo.
The custom set comes courtesy of Gabby Elan Jewelry, who also recently fitted Dua Lipa with butterfly-themed grills for two of her upper teeth for Sunday’s 2021 Grammys.
While some commenters couldn’t believe Kardashian would spend her money on putting a whole row of precious stones in her mouth, others were jealous of the look — including “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Dolores Catania.
“I think I want this,” Catania commented on Kim’s post.
Ajay Anand, CEO of Rare Carat, estimates the new grill to be a pricey — and ill-advised — piece.
“If these are genuine opal, we can estimate them to go for about $100 to $200 each,” he told Page Six Style. “The pavé diamonds likely total around $300 and the custom grill we’d estimate at around $3,000,” he added — making the total piece worth around $5,000.
The bigger issue? Opals are a weak stone, making them a poor choice for a mouthpiece. “Their column structure is quite fragile, which is not a great combination with acidic saliva,” Anand said.
Mouth jewelry is no foreign concept to Kardashian; she previously sported a grill adorned with her name in 2018, marking her return to flashy jewelry following her 2016 Paris robbery.
She posted a photo of another diamond grill shortly before the traumatizing incident, and also owns a blinged-out set complete with a tiny cross.
